Biography
Andrés Felipe Romero was born in Ibaguè, the “Music Capital” of Colombia. He expressed a great feeling for the music and the philharmonics when he was a child. Nephew of art, grew up with a grandmother singer and a grandfather radio journalist , he has always had an artistic and professional vision about everything around music.
At the age of 8, he joined the school band playing the drum.
In 1995 he moved to Italy, where he began his studies at upper-medium school, and where he started to have a different approach with music and a different culture, in particular the European and Italian one.
In 1998 he joined the philharmonic society of Mattie (Turin), where he studied music theory and learned to play trombone, he still plays in this society, and where he began playing percussions.
In 2002 began to study vocal technique with an association called Lizzart in Turin.
He graduated at the University of Turin in Linguistic Mediation, speaks English, Spanish (languages that he uses to write his lyrics, besides Italian), French (school level).
The first songof his first album “Phil So Good” is dated 2002 and titled “Tu Mugrosa Cara(Your dirty face)”.
The sound of this project are a mix of Latin sounds with pop, rock, R & B, rap-hip hop, a few Arabic resonance, and reggeaton; sounds that affect his life and that represent the two cultures that are in him . The result is a musical genre “Ethno-Pop,” which collects all the smells and colors of the multiethnic city that today is the planet.
Lyrics and melodies are written by him and the songs have mainly two versions (Italian and Spanish.) “Phil So Good” has been produced by himself and employed three years to get 10 complete songs . Built in three phases: 2003 (Tu Mugrosa Cara, Grazie a Te and Quiero), 2005 (r En El MundoHay Dolo, El Mundo Es Llena de Estrellas, Talking To The Wind, Ojala), 2006 (Siempre FT. Ire, duet with a jazz singer Irene Rotondale; Ardiendo).
In 2007 he attended the Midem of Cannes with the stand “Italia in Musica”, where he came in contact with several members of the music industry. Thanks this event born a friendship with the Latin magazine BOOM!, Where he took part in 2 Compilations with the single “Tu Mugrosa Cara” ,“Siempre-Sempre” and “Alma al Cielo”.
In 2008, thanks to success of Phil So Good he had the honor to collaborate with a major ternationally producer, Arif Cooper, producer and creator of Sean Paul’ hits “Watch Dem Roll”, “Hold My Hand” and “Guardian Angel” is precisely the last one that had received from the academy three Reggae Awards, and together they produced the single” Alma al Cielo”, included in a Compilation Entre2tierras for Latin American Music Conference in the U.S. and Positioned between the top 100 themes of 2009 in Colombia.
In 2009 was born the second work entitled “Otra Vuelta,” produced by Luca Vicini, aka Vicio Italian bassist known from the awarded italian band Subsonica. With Enrico Cacciatori (guitar), Zareb (Jamaican Artist) and DonSha ‘(American artist) , Hand / Manos, No Chance, Otra Vuelta, En Serenidad, oneway ticket, and could not miss Alma al Cielo; This Ep has a more mature sound with a new style “Ethno Pop”, fresh and youthful, but at the same time embraces all age groups. In the summer, started a promotional tour in Colombia, obtaining the consent of many local radio and television channels.
In 2010 thanks Alma al Cielo, he had the opportunity to record a new riddim signed Jamplified records, titled Muddy legs( English version) and Piernas de Barro (spanish one), collaborating in the Stonehenge Riddim, singed by Jah Cure, Gyptian and more.
Started also a Collaboration with a band called “Hitfinders”, deejays and producers, preparing latin versions of his tunes, the First is “I need You (Good reggaeton remix)” and “Miami” for Pulse Code Records.
