Bambino Musik & Jus Bus presents the “Gyal Season Riddim,” released in 2013
The “Gyal Season Riddim” is a modern Rocksteady riddim, produced by Bambino Musik & Justin ‘Jus Bus’ Nation. It features Tanya Stephens, Busy Signal, Romain Virgo, and more. You may click here to view the track list.
If you are familiar with the sound of Treasure Isle Records, you might recognise that the riddim samples Phyllis Dillon‘s 1967 hit song “Don’t Stay Away,” produced by Duke Reid. The producers had “the intention to blend the timeless era of ska, and rocksteady with a modern vibe.”
It was a nice initiative, and it sounds quite decent. Busy Signal, and Tanya Stephens‘s tracks are good. One can also note that the art cover is pretty simple but catchy.
