It all takes its roots in 1999…
Rick Restanques aka DJ Funky Rickstarr and Michel Bellens aka Iane Robbertson initially created an instrumental track they called “Right on time” by Syndicate Of L.A.W. Later on they invited MC Shurakano to try his skills on it. It was about time to celebrate the switch to 2000 and Shurakano wrote a celebration speech accordingly. Thus, the “Holy Digit Kountdown” was born. The vocals were recorded right after the solar eclipse of August 11, 1999. Meanwhile, “Right on time” became an global club hit. The single was such a hit that in 2003, Syndicate Of L.A.W. decided to release a ragga version of “Right on time”, which reached all European Top 50 and Canadian charts. In 2008, Magic System launched on the French market a new adaptation of this hit called the “Zouglou Dance”, which reached the second spot on Top charts in France.
Consequently the Syndicate of L.A.W. joined in on a wagon of Warner Music France / Play On record label and released an exclusive remix of “Right on Time” rejuvenated by Greg B in collaboration with Ce’cile. Moreover, this brand new and fresh ragga remix also includes a sample from the single “Holy digit Original Kountdown”! Don’t miss it!
