When you think Reggae you think first and foremost Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Dennis Brown, Capleton, Sizzla, Chronixx, and many more stars. One thing for sure is that Reggae has always been the voice of the inner city people or it helps to be a microphone for the voiceless or timid.
A student of Reggae industry
Once your’e born in Jamaica it’s hard not to be influenced by the culture and the sound. Dwayne Thomas better known to us as Fyah Wariyah is one such artist. He hails from the parish of Clarendon and has always seen music has his path and his calling. He has studied the greats like Sizzla, like Jimmy Cliff, Peter. He claims: “I’m a student of this Reggae industry he shouts loudly during our interview.”
“Space”
Presently on set for one his music videos “SPACE”.Fyah Wariyah makes it clear that when he came to Kingston to pursue his dreams he saw several known acts and at that point realized that he had to lift his work ethic. He’s a melodic artist and one who plays on words like a wordsmith. His foresight and insight seems to be firmly grounded. As he explains this single and thoughts that came with the song “Space”. He quoted “I just look at life. I am not an old man. All I can see and hear on social media is what can I do for you and all those are request from females.” So I conjured up the lyrics to “SPACE” from what I see and hear.
A solid team
With a solid team around and beside him Fyah Wariyah is one to look out for especially in the new wave of young acts that are making an impact. He is signed to Skeng Legacy Records. His EP is being worked on by Tip God and it seems to be a good creative work environment between all parties. A quote from Tip God“Fyah Wariyah is an artist that has so much to bring to the table. We are presently honing the sound and various styles he’s able to deliver.”
So lets look and listen out for all the hits that will be coming from SLR, Tip God and especially FYAH WARIYAH.
