Al Campbell performed at New Morning on Saturday, 10th, 2020
Like last year, Mami Watta association organised another Reggae event to celebrate Ethiopian Christmas.
Last night, January 10th, 2020, Jamaican Reggae artist Al Campbell performed at New Morning in Paris, France. After Romeo K & the Mystik Warriors came off stage, and a roughly 15 minute break, Mr. Campbell got on stage, and started with “Can’t Hold We” on the “Real Rock Riddim”.
Despite a few technical issues with the one of the keyboards’ output, and the band having some difficulties to catch up some riddims, the show was pretty good.
Al Campbell‘s voice is fairly well maintained. And his constant smile shows how much he enjoys himself on stage. Besides his classics, and a cover of “Waiting in Vain for Your Love,” he also performed a couple songs off his upcoming album “Man From Studio One,” produced by Peckings Records.
After about an hour and a half, he came back on stage for an encore with a killer on the “Satta Massagana Riddim,” and wrapped up the show with “Yah We Deh”.
Before he got on stage, we had the opportunity to interview him thanks to Mami Watta. Until it’s published, we invite you to take a look at the pictures we took at the show below.
