Midnight Groovers / Dominique Panol – 1976-1984 – Talon Haut / Ce Bon Comme Ça (Atangana Records)

French label Atangana Records re-issues “Talon Haut” by Midnight Groovers, originally released in 1976, and “Ce Bon Comme Ca” by Dominique Panol, originally released in 1984.

VA – Apala- Apala Groups In Nigeria 1967-70 (Soul Jazz Records)

Soul Jazz Records new various-artist compilation “Apala: Apala Groups in Nigeria 1967-70” is the first ever collection of Apala music to be released outside of Nigeria. This album features on a wide selection of songs recorded in Nigeria in the 1960s, when Apala music was at the height of its popularity.

VA – Disques Debs International Vol. 2 (Strut)

Disques Debs International is a Guadeloupe-based record label, which started producing music in the 60’s. Last month, Strut released a compilation of Cadence music produced by Disques Debs International between 1973 and 1981. The first volume of this series of compilation is available for purchase on iTunes.

Swiss-based label Bongo Joe releases a various-artist compilation of 70’s & 80’s songs recorded in the islands of Sao Tomé & Principe.
