On April 27th, 2024, French Ragga Muffin artist, Big Red, performed at Foyer Accrual Chartrain in Chartres, France.
The event began with a warm up selections by Selecta Mickey of Ball-I-Stick Sound, and Gibon Vibes, French artist Deewaï performed a couple songs before Big Red got on stage.
After the opening acts, Selecta Antwan introduced Big Red with a selection mostly based on old school French Reggae/Ragga music.
Backed by Selecta Antwan, the French artist performed a wide variety of his repertoire. Firstly, he sung a couple songs off his latest Reggae album « Come Again », produced by DJ Absurd from the Bass Society Crew. Then he carried on with some of his old school tracks from the Raggasonic era, such as « Aiguisé Comme Une Lame », « Bleu Blanc Rouge » and « Faut Pas Me Prendre Pour Un Âne ».
To switch up the mood a little bit, he performed some Vaport-style tracks featured on the 2020 album « Smockaz ». At last, Big Red sped up the pace with a selection of Grimey Dub music.
Despite very low lighting, and a few glitches at the beginning of the show, it was a fairly good show that the non-profit organisation Pierrason put together in a small venue of Chartres, France. Very few Reggae/Dancehall events are held in this city. So we big up Selecta Mickey and Pierrason for the effort.
