“I Am 718” is a 5-track EP in which 26-year-old independent rapper Tai Hustle based in Brooklyn, NY approaches Hip Hop music through various styles of beats and lyrics.
The opening track, “It’s & Me Baby Girl (Forever)” is a pop-oriented song flavored by synth strings and an auto-tuned chorus that relates a love story, between a young man and a young lady, that nothing can stop despite the ups and downs they have been going through.
The second track, “I’m Dying (God!)” is a single where Tai Hustle depicts the sinful life of a rapper who’s praying to God to save him. The melancholy of this song is emphasized by a mellow piano melody.
The third track, “TwerkLife (Work)”, a more mainstream song, on a beat made of a reversed sample and bumping 808 drums followed by “Mic In My Palm” which is a song about his love for Hip Hop, his dedication to his music and the struggle he has been going through to make it in life.
Last but not least, the bonus track “Shine Like Chris (B.I.G)” is a gangster rap song on a sample-based trap beat repping Brooklyn.
