European Reggae artist Ziggi Recado drops new album titled “Therapeutic”
The album kicks off with the tune Masquerade, where Ziggi surprised me, because I had not heard a tune I liked this much of his yet (but it would not be the last). Some great lyrics and a point to make over a huge bassline make this tune an excellent choice to start the album. There are a plethora of lover’s tunes on the album such as Got It Right Here. The third tune of the album is titled Miss Outta Road, with its powerful melodica, bringing a sad story. Its followed by Talk About and Luv Injection. Next up is I’m Blaak, a tune bigging up Mama Africa. After this we have Don’t Disturb – which is an instant herbalist anthem! The album doesn’t cool down as Midnite joins in and brings a joy on this irie tune titled Earthstrong. Delete My Numba comes next, followed by a big collaboration between Taranchyla, Earl 16, and Ziggi titled JAH Mercy. This tune builds up the vibes for the acoustic love song Ras Got Love. The album finished hard, as Lutan Fyah comes in on a riddim you may remember (and love) from Pressure‘s Serious About It off The Sound released in April this year. With Lutan pon di track, this tune has a magnificent back and forth sound between the two vocalists. Ziggi hits with the chorus : “Parasite dem wah tek a bite, outta my soul, but dem cyaan out mi light. Cuz di almighty guide over” and Lutan brings conscious lyrics such as: “Its like an army full of love with the most high God within”. The album concludes with a tune titled Nah Know Bout U with a calm but big sound where Ziggi hops between fast and slow lyrics for an interesting combination.
All and all, I can see why Ziggi Recado‘s album is topping charts in the Netherlands and other countries, it has a profound sound and a unique vibe that doesn’t sacrifice an original and authentic feel. Give Therapeutic a listen and support the music if you like what you hear. Bless up!
