Detsl aka Le Truk!
In 2000, Detsl has made his debut in the largely underground and unknown Russian rap scene with the album “Who Are You”, rapidly shot to fame after his song, called “Friday,” won the hearts of teenagers nationwide. He also took part in a Pepsi advertising campaign and was the first russian singer who managed to get a spaceman on MTV Music Awards with the video for the track “Vecherinka” in New York City the same year. In 2001, he released his second album, “Street Fighter”.
3 years later, Detsl finished working on “Aka Le Truk”, his third record, was released by Universal Music Russia , in 2004. The name is also referring to the fact that he somewhat changed his performing name to “Le Truk”. This album showcases growth and a major shift in style, as he had more freedom and independence with the material. Fourth album “MosVegas 2012” has been released independently on January 4, 2008 this work resurrected his reputation in all matter of sense! Before that he also released a mix tape called “Poetry Nights” in a collaboration with all of the most popular Russian & Ukrainian rap artists!
On 16th of october 2010 he released a unique album called “Here & Now”: this is the best album I made, says Detsl! In the mean time Detsl is working on 3 rd album from his trilogy called ” Detsllion “, first album from this trilogy is called ” Dancehall Mania ” which was released in early 2014 and contained 11 Dancehall tracks in english, which you can download on i Tunes. After that in late 2014 he released the second album from trilogy which is called MXXXIII (10:33) which contain 11 Russian, English & even Japanese tracks. Third one is about to be finished and is planning to be released in late 2015.
At the same time Detsl aka Le Truk is planning to move on international scene, he is also performing with rock, jazz, and experimental musicians around the world, there are also plenty of projects to move on in future! Detsl is a very popular social person in Russia and in some other parts of the world, with Russian speaking people and not only, he’s scene story is 15 years long and as fascinating, as traveling to space and exploring new universes, He’s music inspires more and more people, all over the world, his mission is to wake us up! First what amazes everyone in Le Truk, that being Russian he sounds like a native Jamaican. In his country Le Truk is a real superstar since a long time, he’s the one who made hip-hop culture go big back in russian 2000’s. Just after Le Truk received his first MTV award in NY in 2000 he decided to celebrate it properly and went to Jamaica and that changed his lifestyle and music once and forever – Russian Jr Gong as they call him in Jamaica.
In 2011 La Truk travels back to Jamaica – this time not as a tourist but as a professional musician. He immediately met some remarkable Jamaican artists like Soul4Soul, Jah Bari and Yardie Evans and decided to record his new album “Dancehallmania” using some voices and production from Jamaica. Le Truk is incredibly famous in Russia, but it seems to be not enough for him anymore. Young and ambitious, this year he announces that “Dancehallmania” will be his international success.
