Reggae music has no boundaries. Good music has no boundaries. There has been a resurgence of groups and acts coming out of Jamaica for the past five yrs. These bands, groups and duos are what and has always been the backbone of the culture. We are here to examine one such group or duo as we call them. The name of the duo is FREE MYNZ. The duo consist of Shango Trex & Catapila. Yes people they make it seem effortless and thats art by itself.
There latest single is titled “Disbelief” is one of those tracks that makes us appreciate just being Jamaican. Hearing those type of lyrics and melodies over a typical smooth sounding Reggae Afro drum pattern. Its actually a love song. A song about appreciation for love and a good woman. Here is a track which empowers women and encourages strong relationships.
Its very melodic and reminiscent of early Third World projects. Now thats a tall order but again good music is good music.
