The “Live Forever Riddim” was produced by M. Blue McLean for Half Way Tree. It was first released on 7″ vinyl records in the mid-2000’s (probably 2006). It’s a Reggae Dancehall compilation that features Anthony B, Spanner Banner, Culture Knox, and more.The heavy bass line, splashes of dub delay effects and the typical digital Reggae Dancehall pattern of the early era of Dancehall music makes this composition tough. It somehow reminds me of the “Tonight Riddim” featuring Cocoa Tea‘s single “18 and Over” produced by King Jammys.In terms of lyrical content, most artists have chosen to sing consciously aware songs pointing out the insecurity of life in the the ghetto and the issue of guns and violence like “No gun” by Culture Knox and “Nuh Chuck No Badness” by Spanner Banner. Anthony B claims loud and clear his faith in Rastafarian beliefs and Jah in a song called “Jah Live”.
