Nicko Rebel Music presents “Don’t Trouble Anyone” by Gappy Ranks
Gappy Ranks delivers a new Modern Roots Reggae single, produced by Nicko Rebel, titled “Don’t Trouble Anyone”. The UK-based Reggae Dancehall artist teaches a life lesson to the youths and a bit of history. To do so, the sing jay uses his own experience as an example.
He sings “Mama tell me seh, papa tell me seh: Son behave yourself anywhere you deh…” Gappy Ranks also refers to great leaders such as Mandela and Garvey who have been “learners” before they became the prominent figures they were.
As Christmas soon comes, it seems that he mentioned about the nativity to be, somehow, in order to be consistent with the tradition of releasing a “Christmas tune” at the end of the year. Or it might as well just be a coincidence.
The riddim is fairly melodious and pleasant to listen to. Gappy‘s vocals have been processed with his usual trademark autotune style, which I am not very fond of. But, this is what makes Pelpa sound even more characteristic.
