Mr Vegas disses Canadian Rapper Drake in brand-new track titled “Dancehall Pirate”
“Mi no rate Drake. Him Fake.” In his vlog “MV Corner”, Dancehall Deejay Mr Vegas had expressed his anger about how certain mainstream artists profit off Reggae and Dancehall music. On his video, he ranted about Drake who sample a Dancehall track without crediting the artist on his latest album “Views from the 6”.
Shortly after uploading his vlog on Facebook, the Dancehall Deejay released the track “Dancehall Pirate”. On an old-school flavored Dancehall riddim, Mr Vegas delivers a solid track with a flow inspired by Bionic Steve‘s 1993 Reggae song “Fly Di Gate”. He introduces the song with a line that sums up the whole track “We rate who rate we. We don’t rate who don’t rate we.” He spits out the names of various Hip Hop stars he rates and, of course, ends up the list with Drake, who he doesn’t rate.
Just check out the track. It’s tough. Do not hesitate to comment and share. Let us know what you think of this track.
