Its Reggae month here in Jamaica and we have been exploring the culture and the music that drives a nation and one that brings joy to a lot of nations. Lovers Rock has always been a part of Reggae and with a long list of male and female crooners. We here to look and listen to one such artist. Her name is Savana Lavie. She is known for her sultry and piercing voice.
We had the pleasure of listening to some of her tracks. Now let’s talk about the track “Fire & Lighting” off her EP. This is a typical Lovers Rock that brings us back to an era where Reggae singers were leading the line for the culture. This track is a reminder of love. The song speaks of a passion between male and female and the chemistry that is evoked from the females perspective. Well written and well put together. The production is done by CLC Productions. They did a good job by using overdubs of live instruments which can be heard in the instrumental.
