Your interview says not playing with Jamaicans is not as real. If johnny and me collaborated it would be the rootsest !most authentic Rasta music ever. So don’t go putting nationality on anything. Weak minded kind of racist y’all. I’m as Jamaican as anyone in terms of my sound and yet its completely original. Not copying… Go search me in Google Zach kopka. Me and Johnny have Jah work to do yer

In my opinion, the true authentic sound of 70’s Roots Reggae music has long been gone. Music is not just about technique. You can be an amazing player as in you have great technique, it doesn’t mean your music will sound great, because it might lack soul, feeling and/or groove.
Some people have never learned music theory, and played by ears, with their guts, and it sounds great, because the sound the produce has soul. I have been to many concerts, where French bands accompanied Caribbean artists. They played correctly, but the sound wasn’t the same as when you listen to the vinyl record. It was just stiff, without soul.
If you listen to Reggae produced in the US, or in France, or in the UK, they sound totally different event though they call it Reggae, because from different countries, living in different environments, have different influences.
If recognizing that people have different cultures, and are different is racist… then yes, I am weak minded racist.
