New Facebook cover photo dimensions for 2015/2016
It seems like the Facebook cover photo dimensions have been updated overnight. I have been designing banners for Facebook for a while now and it had always fitted in perfectly. And last night, my friend told me that the content of the cover I designed for him yesterday, needs to be shifted to the left.I double checked the cover I designed, Facebook guidelines, and it still shows that the Facebook cover size is 851x315px. However, when I check out the HTML source files the dimensions are different from the current guidelines. I suppose it has been updated or it simply shows up differently on Apple computers.
- Cover photo: Width = 828 px | Height = 315 px
- Avatar: Width = 160 px | Height = 160 px + 4 px border
- Avatar + border: Width = 168 px | Height = 168 px
Hopefully, this will helpful. I have also made an Illustrator template with guides (shared upon request) to make the design process a little easier.
