The “Chi Chi Bud Riddim”, produced by Joe Frasier Label, is a Regga various artist compilation featuring Everton Blender, Freedie McGregor, Tarrus Riley, Max Romeo and many more, released in 2007.It is based on an old Jamaican folk song called “Chi Chi Bud” that was sung during tiring work in the fields (Pancocojams, 2014). The very first version of this riddim was recorded by Max Romeo and produced by Keith Chin for Punch Records in 1971 (Riddimbase).Those who wonder what this song means, don’t get it twisted. Here “chi chi bud” refers to a flock of humming birds (Dictionary of Jamaican Patois). I hope you’ll like this riddim. I personally think that it sounds very cheerful.
