Special Spragga Benz Throwback this weekend
Reggae Dancehall deejay Spragga Benz celebrates his 46th birthday today (May 30th, 2015). So I thought it would be a good idea to dedicate this weekend’s #Throwback to his music.
His career took off in the early 90’s with the hit singles “Could A Deal” and “Girls Hooray”. He worked with some of the greatest producers of Dancehall music such as Bobby Digital, Winston Riley and the legendary duo formed by Steely & Clevie.
He also dabbled in the movie industry and played in a couple of movies including “Shottas“. Since a few of years ago, he has launched his won music label called Red Square, which gathers a number of young talented Reggae Dancehall artists like Kemmikal, Tajji, Xyclone and many more.
He’s probably not the best Dancehall deejays of all time, but his early career was very promising. So this weekend, I invite you to (re)discover some of his old singles. And If you want some more, make sure you check out his latest single, produced by Lamar Pro, entitled “Bree”.
