Versatile and Popcaan “made it”
Versatile made it. Else, he would not be here today to sing about it and I would not be sharing with you the brand-new remix of his single “Made It”. He was joined by Popcaan on the remix track, which was produced by himself under his own record label Damani Music in collaboration with Yawdkore Records. This is actually a fair illustration of how versatile he can be.Lyrically speaking, this song is truly inspirational. Versatile briefly depicts the harshness of his childhood as a ghetto youth and all the discouraging comments he had to cope with before he actually made it. He also highlights the motivation he had thanks to his supportive mother.
“Been through the struggle. Been through the pain. Nuff say me nah go make it when them mention me name.”
The riddim they have voiced for the remix is the same as the original one. It’s a relatively slow paced Pop/R’n’B-flavored Dancehall riddim. It’s a regular mainstream riddim, which is not extraordinarily catchy. Nevertheless, the mellow piano and synth strings make it sound quite soft and heartwarming and it fits perfectly the tone of the song. The original version is available for purchase on digital outlets.
